Mrs. Rivera's Class

At Music, Mr. Duster wasn't there. Mrs. Weems was there. We did Math. We practiced the number 15. In reading, we read Messenger, Messenger. We watched real messengers on the SMART Board. Mrs. Kern told us to all sit down at recess and then she said "APRIL FOOL'S." We made a watering can. Mrs. Rivera said everyone owes time, but she was just kidding.

We went to art. We traced a stencil. We learned about transportation. We tasted different types of ice cream. We tasted vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, oreo and sherbert. We circled the faces of how we liked them on our paper. We made a graph named Which Ice Cream Do You Like Best? We read from Junie B.  At lunch we had sherbert. Mrs. Tejada came and read to us. We did science. We made a tulip flower because it is spring. We wrote words. We wrote why we love spring.

We went to Culture. Mrs. Weems read us a book about the bamboo princess. It was a good book. Mrs. Weems let us pick our favorite paper to color.  We did math. We did a math problem. We did reading. We had to draw a line to pictures "why did it happen?"We read Mayday! Mayday! again.

We went to the librar. We did our journals outside. We did science. We talked about fall, winter, spring, summer. Those are  called seasons.

We went to art. We practiced lines, like a bumpy one and a straight one. We sang the tattle song. We sang our song about numbers in the teens. We practiced our number 14. We did reading. We read Mayday! Mayday! We read from Junie B. We practiced our letter T. We did social studies. We drew about what transportation will be like in the future, like a car that has wings, maybe. We watched a little bit of the Jetsons on the SMART Board.

We did PE. We had a fire drill. We ran in the gym. We did something new in PE. It was soccor kick! We didn't do centers because of the fire drill. We took a class picture at the playground. We did math. We played a game. We watched a video of a steam engine train. A steam engine train has an engine and cars for passengers sometimes. Today trains are faster like the Japanese bullet train. We watched a video of the Japanese bullet train going too.

We went to Art.We did our own shapes. Ms. Walker read us a book about St. Patrick's Day. We made a leprechaun in math using shapes. We did math. We (talked about) our shapes. A sphere rolls. We did reading. We read a story about Max and Ruby. Max was going on a train. Transportation is trains, busses, airplanes, bikes, subwasy, casr, motorcycles.

This morning once we came into our classroom the room was a great big mess. After calendar we cleaned up the room. The leprechaun put glitter everywhere and put footprints on the windows and on the tables. The leprechaun put shaving cream on our tables. We did PE and did our test. We did math. We saw Luckey Charms and then we sorted them and then we colored a graph. We did Social Studies. We went on a leprechaun hunt. We did not find him. Mrs. Kern found a four leaf clover. We celebrateed Mrs. Kern's birthday.

We did math. We played a game. We rolled three dice and we counted altogether and we colored the clover with the answer green. We read If You Could Go to Antarctica again. We matched animals that live in the woods and in Antarctica. At lunch we saw a flag with George Washington. We made a trap for the leprechaun and we used yellow counters as gold. We tied the box so once he grabs the gold with tape on it he will get trapped. We drew a sign that said No Leprechauns Allowed! We colored our book Have You Seen My Pot of Gold.

We went to art and we traced our hand and we colored the trunk of the tree and put heart leaves on top of the branches. Ms. Kodlick wasn't there so we had a sub. We saw rainbows on the SMART board. We got to make a rainbow with paint.

We went to Culture. We sang our song and watched Big Bird Japan. We went to the Library. Ms. Walker was not there.  The library was closed and Mrs. Kern checked out books. We did Math. The leprechaun made 4 pairs of shoes and we got to see how many was altogether. We did our 2-D shapes. We counted the sides and the corners. During Writer's Workshop we had our St. Patrick's Day book and we turned to the next page. If I found a four leaf clover I would wish for... We did Social Studies. We made a clover. We put glitter on it.

We went to PE. We did jogging. We did our centers. We did math. In reading, we read If you could go to Antarctica. We practiced our letter A. We did a journal about St. Patrick's Day. Today's journal was I feel lucky when... We did Social Studies. We learned about St. Patrick. He was kidnapped when he was a boy. We put all our pieces together. We made a Leprechaun.

Couldn't do it without our volunteers! The Produce Department! It's chilly in the fridge! The Butchers The Bakery may have been our favorite part!

We went to Art. We decorated My Art Portfolio. We did math. We did a butterfly graph. We did reading. We read from the Pink book. Then we had to draw a pictures of the characters in the story. We did Social Studies. We did a paper and drew our needs. We need clothes, air, water, shelter and food.

We made a dog in Culture today. We made a cat too. We worked with a ten frame today. We watched a video about length. We measured things with paperclips  we put them next to the side to see how long they were. We read Goldilocks and the Three Bears again. We colored a  picture of characters. We practiced our letter G. We did Social Studies. We made a person and picked out their clothes. We are talking about needs and we need clothes so we do not get sick.

We did PE. We did our test. We ran outside and we had to pass Mr. Wagner. If we passed Mr. Wagner we passed the test. Middle School friends came and read Oobleck by Dr. Seuss to us. We watched a video about Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We went to the library. We read the story If You Give a Cat a Cupcake. Then we sat down and checked our our books. We did Social  Studies. We watched a video about needs and wants. Someone is leaving. He is going to California.We feel sad but when he goes to kindergarten it will be awesome for him there.

We went to Music. We sang "Alex likes pineapples." We studied the number 11 again. We did reading. We read Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We learned about Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks got arrested because she the driver told her to give up her seat and she said "No."

We went outside and we drew what we thought could be in a Dr. Seuss book with sidewalk chalk. We did not have specials today. We did math. We did reading. We read There's a Wocket in my Pocket. Then we did What is in your pocket? sentence page. We watched the Sneetches.
