Happy Halloween!!

We scooped the seeds out of the biggest pumpkin. We made a jack-o-lantern. We named him Thomas the Pumpkin. We voted to see what shape to carve the pumpkin's eyes, nose and mouth. We went to music. We ordered the pumpkins by size. We put the big pumpkins first and went all the way to our little pumpkins. We made pumpkin bread. We used baking soda. We read The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything. We did the whole alphabet (on pumpkins). Then we colored the pumpkins orange. We did science. First we looked  at the outside of the pumpkin and drew what we saw. Then we cut the pumpkin in half and we drew what we saw. Then we took 20 seeds and put them in a bag and put that in our backpack. We ate our snack and we got to eat our pumpkin bread too.  It was yummy!
We did art and we watched a second Purple Crayon and then we lined up at the red box. We went to the library. We did our candy corn. We colored candy corn with numbers on them.We found the numbers and put them in order. Then we put them on our head. Then we ate them all (real candy corn). We each had 4. In science we got paper and we got to color pictures of pumpkins, seeds, vine and flowers. They grow into a pumpkin. They are green at first and when they are ready they are orange. We finished our pumpkins that were green (from yesterday) and we put all our orange paper on them.

Pumpkin Day

Congratulations to our Clipper of the week! We went to Culture. We made more pumpkins. We practiced the number 8 and the letter M. We made groups of eight on the carpet.  We sang our number songs. In Reading, we read Armadillo Orange. We watched videos about armadillos. They live in Texas, Florida and Mexico. He has a hard back and he rolls up. We did Science.  We read It's Pumpkin Time. We ripped orange paper and used glue and put it on a green pumpkin paper. The green pumpkin isn't ready. An orange pumpkin is ripe and ready to be picked.

Position Words

We went to PE. We went outside. We ran past 4 cones. We did a new center. If the ball touches you, you have to do 5 jumping jacks. We had to run and throw like a bowling ball. We glued a math problem in our journal and we read the problem. We solved the problem.We went to the playground and we went on the top and under and in. We colored a paper. Then we cut out the Halloween character. We listened to Ms. Rivera and we glued the stuff on our paper. We glued the bat above the tree. In Science, we watched The Magic School Bus.

Music Day

We went to Music. We watched Fiddler on the Roof and danced the hokey pokey with Ms. Gipson. We read a book about seasons and wrote the names of the seasons. We read Ocean Life. We wrote the letter N. We wrote the word necklace and nut by ourselves.

Clay Day

We went to Art. We made a fish out of clay. We made bubbles with chopsticks and we put fish and seaweed on the clay. We watched a man that was making clay make  a shisha dog. He was a silly shisha dog with a snorkel. Mr. Jorge made us close our eyes and he made a snorkel. In reading we looked at the book Living in the ocean. We made a Venn Diagram. We saw what was different about them and in the middle we said how they were the same. We drew pictures in our diagram. We did Science. We made a tree with yellow, orange and red leaves. We got to color the tree trunk brown.

Science Day

Congratulations to our Clipper of the Week! We went to Culture and we made a pumpkin and we added details. We got to draw triangles and we drew the mouth. We we to Library and we read a book instead of reading the other books we read Hello Ocean. In math, we traced the number 7. We got stickers and wrote the numbers up to 7. We sang the song for Is. We did science. We had a book called Autumn Leaves are Falling Down.

Red Ribbon Parade

We went to the gym and we saw a band. We did the parade because we had to follow each other. We read Life in an Ocean. We did science. We read the book about hunting for leaves. We read the other Leaves book. That one was non-fiction. We made color leaves. We became fall trees and we got to go outside. The wind blew the leaves went everywhere. They even got in the baseball field.  We picked up our leaves. We stapled them into our science journal.

Good- Bye Friend

We went to Music. We closed our yes so we could get ready to leave. He played the piano. We made scarecrows. We did taste in science. We put a sad face when we didn't like it or a happy face. We had to say goodbye to a friend. He had to go back to America. We took a picture with him.

Smelly Day

We made a circle and we passed Stuffy around and we said what we wished for. We went to Art and Harry and the Purple Crayon. Then we got to draw whatever we wanted. We played "A What?" with 3D shapes. We read My Five Senses. There were these cups that had different smells in them and we had cinnamon, coffee, pickles, chocolate, garlic and onion. We had to waft the smells to our nose. Then we checked our box once we smelled it. Then we had to write our favorite smell.

Seeing

We did specials. We went to Culture. We watched Big Bird. We made a circle on the carpet and we passed blocks to eachother. We said "This is a Cylinder" Then the the other person said "A what?" We got to make cylinders. cubes, cones and spheres out of play-doh. We read Dig, Dig, digging. We colored a page of things that belong  and we X'ed out the things that did not belong. We did science. We had two stuffed animals and we drew what we saw. Then we looked at them through a magnifying glass and it looked different because it was bigger and we could see more details.

Hearing

We practiced our number 6. We went to Mr. Duster’s class and we did Do Re Mi.  We played music. We made creatures with shapes. We glued down an ear in our science journals and we added sound waves. We made a shaker because we talked about our 5 senses. We decorated the back of a paper plate and we added beans and stapled it shut. When you shake it it makes sound.

Fire Truck Visit

We sorted M&Ms by color. We went to Art. We went to the firetruck. We saw Sparky. We took a picture with Sparky. We got to go in the fire truck.

Skeleton Day

We went to see a dance. We saw kids at the stage. The ladies were dancing on the stage. They were doing dances from Mexico. We said the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish. We went to Ms. Shimojo's class and we were coloring a paper and when we were done we drew on the back. In Science we played a game. We had to roll a die and see the number and there was a number of bones and if you rolled the number you got the bone and whoever finished the body first won. We did our skeleton and our ams, legs, chest and head bones.

Vision and Hearing Screening

They wanted to check our eyes and our ears to see if they worked. We looked at the stuff like umbrella house and apple.  If we said them right then our eyes are good. We went to PE and we did laps. We did PE outside in the grass and the playground. Mrs. Tejada came and visited us. She talked to us about bullying. She read us a book about a bully. We watched Magic School Bus on the SMART Board. Ralphie got sick and we learned what happened to him. They went into his body  and we saw the bacteria. We watched it during recess because it was raining. We read Me and My Amazing Body. In Science,we colored our skin and we labeled our body parts.

Body Part Day

Congratulations to our Clipper of the Week! Way to go! Happy Birthday! In Math, we sorted things into groups of 5. In Music, we played a steady beat on the sticks. We went to the library. We did the letter B in handwriting. We did science. We studied the body and the body parts.We had someone lay down and we traced him. We wrote the names of the body parts on paper and we put them (labels) right next to the body. We added a skeleton bone on the paper.
We sorted stickers by color. In math, we made patterns on the SMART Board and when we were done we passed the pointer to somebody else. We made it by shape and color. We made whales in Culture because we were practicing making oragami. In handwriting, we practiced the letter P. We did social studies. We studied firefighters.

Picture Day

We went to PE. We behaved and threw balls. We went to the library. At rest time we got our stickers if we know our colors. We made Police Hats because we put papers on them and we colored them with blue and yellow. Today we are learning about community helpers.
We went to Mr. Duster's. We played with Ducks. In Math, me made a graph.  We see what number is the most. The question for the graph was "How Many People are in Your Family?" We studied the number 4. We read a story about the Three Little Kittens. We sang a song about a field trip. We made a Mail Truck. We got a sticker so we know that tomorrow is Picture Day.
